On April 9, a meeting was held between the President of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of the Russian Federation Svetlana Volodina and the Chairman of the International Association of Lawyers and Consultants Ainur Yalilov.
The meeting discussed important issues related to advocacy and the prospects for its development in Russia.
The parties noted the need to improve the legislation related to the functions of law firms. Ainur Yalilov stressed that the Association is interested in active participation in these processes, which will ensure a higher quality of legal services.
Svetlana Volodina explained that at present there is an active discussion of the issue of endowing law firms with the features of a limited liability company, which is fundamental, while preserving the principle of non-profit activity. The purpose of the amendments is to ensure the optimal transition of the legal business to the legal profession as part of the professionalization of legal representation.
