The international economic forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum" has ended in Kazan. More than 22 thousand people from 10 countries of the world took part in this event. Members of the IALC took an active part in the forum.
Representatives of almost all participating countries spoke about the creation of a global Islamic ecosystem at KazanForum. Salimkhan Akhmedov, a member of the IALC Council, Managing Partner of the STREAM Law Firm, representing two countries at once - Russia and the UAE, supported this idea.
Salimkhan Akhmedov noted: "Islamic finance is a type of bank financing that has been actively developing in recent years all over the world (As you know, it has been developed not only in countries with a predominantly Muslim population, but also in other jurisdictions). Islamic banking is one of the fastest growing financial areas in the world. We live in an era of the implementation of alternative sources of financing and the search for new opportunities for the development of economies and a departure from the classic model of bank financing. These processes, the rapidly growing Muslim population and the principle of non-discrimination seem to form the basis for the global Islamic ecosystem."
Timur Kakoho, a member of the IALC, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Tatarstan Regional Branch of the Association of Lawyers of Russia, took part in the round table "100th Anniversary of Cultural, Humanitarian and People's Diplomacy: Best Practices of BRICS and OIC NGOs, Prospects for Further Development of Inter-Civilizational Dialogue".
Timur Kakokho stressed the importance of the event: "KazanForum 2025 plays a key role in strengthening economic and cultural cooperation between Russia and the countries of the Islamic world, creating a platform for dialogue and new partnerships. The forum contributes to attracting investment, developing international projects and demonstrating the potential of Tatarstan as an important business hub. Holding such an event underlines Russia's desire for multilateral cooperation in the face of global challenges."
